Happy 2013! This is more than half a year late, but better late than never, right? Back in May, before I disappeared into the summer, I ran the third DotQ Writing Challenge, styled after the first and second. This time we had four entries. Anyone who was interested had only to write a short story and submit it. All entries were to be proofread by yours truly, then posted to the main site accompanied by an illustration. Finally, I have done my job, and the entries grace the site in their full proofread, illustrated splendor.

Over the last month, I ran the second DotQ Writing Challenge, styled after the first. Last time, what emerged was that a lot of people wanted to write. We got a lot of entries. This time, the harvest was less abundant. Anyone who was interested had only to write a short story and submit it. All entries were to be revised by yours truly, then posted to the main site accompanied by an illustration.
Last week I ran the first ever Dreams of the Quill Writing Challenge. Anyone who was interested had only to write a short story and submit it. All entries were to be posted here on the main site and supplemented by a single illustration thrown together by yours truly. This was largely an attempt at beefing up DotQ’s content and forcing myself to draw. What emerged was that a lot of people were eager to write.
Right now, Night Switch is on a Monday & Friday release schedule.
From now on, I will only post the next installment if I have a minimum of one comment on the latest installment. To illustrate: if there are no comments on Night Switch 31.29 by the time the next release day comes around, Night Switch 31.30′s release will be postponed to the next release day. So if you read Night Switch, please comment!
Next, a bonus for you readers: if I get a minimum of two comments from different people on a Night Switch installment, I’ll put up a bonus installment on the next week day. This bonus does not apply to bonus installments; so we’re talking a maximum of four installments a week. The minimum number of comments for a bonus installment will increase as I attain more readers.
Night Switch comment-posting rules:
- no “more please”
- no incoherence/gibberish
- spam/off-topic is alright so long as it’s funny
- if I reply to your comment, my response comments don’t count toward bonus installments
- the first person to comment on an installment gets a bonus point (these can be redeemed for rewards later)
First off, today marks the first half day of 10.5 days given to anyone who wishes to submit an entry in the second ever DotQ contest! It’s sorta like an art contest, I guess, but that description doesn’t do it justice and I’m not going to rehash everything, so just check the thread on the forums:
And remember, guys and gals- there’s a pretty nifty prize waiting for the best chibi artist :D
Next off, I feel the need to do more shamless self-plugging (this IS my site, after all) and therefore I’m going to mention the fact that today, a new character was added to my RPG Character Archive. His name is Charles Hannaford, and I wrote him up for KingCrazyGenius’s The Darkness Comes RPG sign-ups.
You can find him in that thread if you look hard enough, or you can just click here:
You can, of course, always find him on the RPG Character Archive page, but I felt a direct link would be more appropriate ;)
