7/29/08 Night Switch Release Mechanics UpdateCategories: Meta • Site NewsTags: contest • meta:ns • schedule Posted by Flak | Comments: 4 |
![]() |
Right now, Night Switch is on a Monday & Friday release schedule.
From now on, I will only post the next installment if I have a minimum of one comment on the latest installment. To illustrate: if there are no comments on Night Switch 31.29 by the time the next release day comes around, Night Switch 31.30’s release will be postponed to the next release day. So if you read Night Switch, please comment!
Next, a bonus for you readers: if I get a minimum of two comments from different people on a Night Switch installment, I’ll put up a bonus installment on the next week day. This bonus does not apply to bonus installments; so we’re talking a maximum of four installments a week. The minimum number of comments for a bonus installment will increase as I attain more readers.
Night Switch comment-posting rules:
- no “more please”
- no incoherence/gibberish
- spam/off-topic is alright so long as it’s funny
- if I reply to your comment, my response comments don’t count toward bonus installments
- the first person to comment on an installment gets a bonus point (these can be redeemed for rewards later)

I installed my tablet drivers on my mom’s computer and used it to draw a couple things. I apologize for the utter lack of these updates since April. I also apologize for only offering three sketches today. I apologize further for their lameness. I’ve not been on a tablet in a while, and they’re rushed to boot. Some day, I’ll have my own computer again, and I’ll dedicate some time to drawing something nice.
7/24/08 Permalink Structure ChangedCategories: Site NewsTags: permalinks • tweaks • wordpress Posted by Flak | Comments: 2 |

Hey guys. I’m changing a few things up at DotQ in anticipation of larger changes in the not-so-distant future (I’m talking August or September). The first thing I did was change the link structure. Notice how if you click on this post, its date and name are in the URL now, instead of just “archive” and the post ID? Yeah. This will serve a greater purpose soon.
In the meantime, a lot of links are broken. If you find any such broken links (be they within the main site, or to the forums—the forum link structure changed a couple months ago and I think I have yet to fix any of the links that were on the main site) please report them to me in the comments of this post, and I’ll fix them.
Once I’m done with this small structural upheaval, I’ll be retheming DotQ so that its layout better scales to large quantities of content without becoming cluttered. It’ll be hard, but it’ll be worth it.
When I’m done with that, it’ll finally be time to theme the forums.
EDIT: I checked out the Wiki, Writings page, Projects page, and Other page. Links in these pages should all be working. If anything’s broken (which I’m sure it is) it’s a link inside a normal post on the main site (a post like this) or instead a forum thread. It’s too much trouble to hunt them all down… but if anyone runs into one on accident, please, let me know! Broken links are a pain. (Also, link-checkers don’t work because all links on DotQ are redirects.)
