Jan 4Validation and Projects

After discovering how to declare a character encoding, I have finally made all pages on this site claiming to be valid XHTML into actual valid XHTML. This does not include the front page because of the Javascript program that displays recent forum threads, nor the forums because they’re badly tabled and I don’t feel like fixing them.

In other news, the Projects page is finally up and meaningful, with something new that was not in v1: Flakstatus. With four bits of info, it’s fairly easy to see what I’m up to in general these days, useful for discerning how much time/effort I’m putting into art/writing.

Final news for now is I am considering incorporating more of the old features (RPG sign up archive among possible others…) that have more to do with writing and less to do with anime. I might put my School Life page back up, but I also might not because I’d like to be able to show this site to just about anyone. I think it’s fairly easy to see (for those who are familiar with the old School Life page) why I would not be so keen on having everyone see it. Either way, look forward to some new sections soon (or old sections? hehe) along with some more content; I’m planning on getting back to writing this weeekend. For now, cheers.

It saddens me that some people are so completely lacking in common sense and courtesy. It seems we’re having another Algybama-type case on the comments, and I’m sick of deleting them. Until I get authentication going (probably using the same accounts as for the forum, if possible) comments are closed on news items.

No, this site is not about anime. The only section of it for the discussion of anime is in the DotQ Anime Club (aka ACROB.) This site is, as stated in Site Info, a site for art and writing. If I ever bring back features/reviews, you’ll know it. As it is, I’ve made it very clear that right now, they are not a part of DotQ. To all my visitors from Anime Trance, AnimeOST.net, and 1 Thing: that’s right, this site isn’t about anime. What, you wanna hate?

It’s a shame that my happy holidays post had to be replaced with this so shortly after the layout is released (the same day! come on guys), but such is the internet… *sigh*

Firstly, Happy New Years!!
Secondly, welcome to Dreams of the Quill v2!

For more information on v2, such as its purposes and the ideas behind it, check out the projects page. As much as you’d probably like an up-front explanation, I’m not going to repeat everything here. One thing I will say about the layout is that unless you like your DotQ eggs scrambled, you should use a browser other than Internet Explorer. The site info page has links to the two browsers I would recommend.
Any questions should be e-mailed to me directly via the contact form.

Next order of business: I “missed” the holidays so to speak, as I was net-less for a margin of three days around Christmas. As such, not only was my site in transition and stasis, but there was no special holiday feature! I will make up for that now, with this lovely picture of Mana in a Santa outfit.

If this image does not load, please contact the webmaster.

Happy holidays, and joyous New Year!
