Life is good, largely because my rent and healthcare are both still free for a little bit longer. I graduated from college with a 'useless' liberal arts degree last spring. I'm currently doing freelance web design, writing, and working on some game design projects. Fun times.

Dang it's been forever.

Good luck with the diss'... ;)

You were a liberal arts major!?

That makes me feel better about considering pursuing an associate's degree in liberal arts for lack of a better idea. What's good enough for Flak is good enough for me. A followup Bachelor's may follow, but if I do go back to school it would be because it's something interesting to do and I like the idea of having SOMETHING bigger than a high school diploma, rather than any kind of career aspirations. I really don't care enough to find a different job.

Four years into a five year degree in Electronic & Computer Engineering at the moment. Struggling with writing bits of software for my dissertation project at the moment - it's coming up to 3am here. How's life on your end?

Engineering sounds like a solid field, except... so much math... o_o So... much... math...

Welcome! :D

Rhetoric dude. Highly encouraged. Philosophy, literature, and history are also all pretty good.

Not exactly the kind of degree for someone looking for a career, no... but since you two already have those under control, not a problem! ;P

Depends on the career you want. Rhetoric is a great starting point for continued rhetoric education leading into a life of academia. It's also perfectly fine prelaw. I took it as the cool alternative to English literature for when I teach English down the line.

Law does fascinate me, if not necessarily in a career sense.

What do you suppose is the career for someone who wants to make police into protectors of the citizens instead of Bloomberg's storm trooper thugs?
