Another version of my latest map, temporarily dubbed “testninja”, is out. I had a thread on the forums asking for input as to what I should work on for today’s release, but as no one contributed any thoughts I just did my own thing. Anyway, follow the testninja link, download the latest version, and knock yourselves out. It’s a big file.

Unless the coming week is as ridiculously busy as the last, I should definitely have a new chapter of Tundra of Heroes up this time on the 23rd.

My new map, Tide Fighters, is out. The page says “in progress” because there are still things I want to work on and add over time (and Alar has some good ideas, too, which I hope to get to implementing) but the map is ready to be played and, after a fashion, complete.

Follow the Tide Fighters link, download the latest version, and enjoy.

Jun 20Summer in Full Swing

Well, I managed to dispel most of my loneliness by drowning myself in Warcraft III for three days, pausing only to participate in a Magic draft. Oh, and I worked a bit on HC Chapter 25—it’s coming eventually. Probably this Sunday. But then, on Monday, I did some drawing for the first time in what felt like forever (maybe because I hadn’t put any art on this site in… well, forever) and made the first Monday art update in months.

In that update, Mana became older.

And now, he’s colored: Mana II – Slightly Older [Color]

But that aside, I’ve been working a lot in the Warcraft III World Editor—I think I logged nine hours yesterday. These were split between two projects. The first is Verga Dissonance, with which I have resumed making progress. The second is Tide Fighters, a new tiny one-player map that’s meant to be mindless fun. I hope to get a “release” of one or the other out before my internship starts next Wednesday. That means either VD v0.1.8 or TF 1.0. Meanwhile, TF betas are being spammed to http://flak.dotq.org/t_war3/tide_fighters.php.

In other news, thanks to Alar’s forceful persuasion (whee redundancy!!) I have finalized the DotQ t-shirt. That is, I’ve put out a “public product” that can be bought from zazzle. When buying, I believe you have the ability to change it however you like—size, colors, the text on the back, whatever. Anyway, price ranges between 20-30 bucks depending on what modifications you make (and I don’t know how shipping factors in) so it’s pretty expensive for “just a shirt”—but it’s not “just a shirt,” it’s a DotQ shirt! So uh yeah, buy one today.

Oct 62 Sketches, 1 RPG Character, Verga Dissonance 0.1.6

Well, I’m here at home on a school day with a pretty bad cold (but not much of a horrible sickness), having slept for fourteen hours and not recovered. No longer sleepy, I’m occupying myself by putting content up.

Over the last two weeks or so, I’ve done several drawings of Mana II, son of Lanto. I guess this is part of the process of “rebuilding” his character- solidifying, reconstructing, cementing, whatever have you. I’m not quite there yet. But at least the art’s getting better. Here are two of the aforementioned sketches that turned out the best.

Mana II – Fire Blade
Mana II – Eyes

Next order of business, I recently signed up for James’s new RPG, Second Exodus. It’s being held on the war3forums, so not everyone here will have an account there, but I think I can still advise my readers to sign up. A lot of you came over from those forums, anyway. My character, a down-on-his-luck writer named Harry Locke, is up in the RPG Character Archive.

Also today I have redone the RPG Character Archive. It no longer uses an ugly pile of links and an iframe, but rather a simple PHP program and a pretty CSS-ified list of names. With pop-up RPG titles!

Finally, I… finally… got around to completing version 0.1.6 of my single-player RPG, Verga Dissonance.
