Dreams of the Quill

I’ll be writing a lot—some amount every day, starting tonight. I’ll be doing some web design—cleaning up house around DotQ. I’ll be hanging out with friends—folks back from college for a few weeks.

On the writing front, I’ve got a million ideas to work with. I’ve got scraps of potential short stories, whose meaningless names I will now spew your way: The BM, MacroMicro, Float, Recover the Love Song, Trots and the Key, and there are more… In addition, I need to work more on Tundra of Heroes (as usual) and Night Switch (as usual). Here’s to me posting one bit of writing every day for the rest of my break, barring being out of town which might happen. It might be a short story, it might be a snippet, it might be a longer chapter of something, or it might just be a blog post, but every day: something.

As for web stuff, I’ve been playing with some ideas for redesigning DotQ, but I think I’m just not going to do it. I have an idea, I mark it up, I style it down, and then it just doesn’t make me as happy as DotQ’s current design. So instead of a redesign I’m just going to go around tweaking some of the rough edges from last year’s September redesign. I’ll keep you all posted on that.

I have a lot to share with you guys. Hopefully I can get it all out before next semester starts, and with it, a graduate short story seminar that will break my back (and that I’m mucho excited for).
