11/19/08 Drawing Harvest 13, 11-19-08

I’m switching up the format of these a bit. Now, each image has a number, and the descriptions are not all crammed into a single ugly paragraph.

Brief descriptions, from top left to bottom right:

1) GheoFabulousDuk v2. He recently cut his hair, and I had to update my TTGL rendition[1] of him as a result. Notice that he’s got Simon’s glasses this time (fanart:Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann & Real Life).

2) Random dude walking with a bag on his shoulder (misc).

3) I keep telling myself, “Flak! You’ve got to learn how to draw girls!” and I keep failing to pursue that goal long enough to accomplish it. This is the first attempt in my latest batch. It’s got a bunch of problems but it’s not horrendous. Except for the lower face. Couldn’t get it right, so I killed it with a beard (misc).

4) Continuing the theme from #3, it’s an attempt at drawing a girl. I did this one in many stages, getting advice from CJ along the way. It still looks like trash but it’s a lot better than it was in its first incarnation. Thanks, CJ! (misc)

5) Gem Hunter with his runeblade the Shark (HC).

6) Tomora Ynthon making a gun with his right hand. Anachronistic and random, but eh, I felt like it (TOH)!

7) Gem Hunter, feeling ambivalent about something (HC).

  2. 1. Oh the perpetuation of crimes. Is it unfortunate or fortunate that there is an anonymity cost to namefaggery?
    2. He’s got an odd ratio of shoulder:shoulder blade, getting into the hunchback range. It makes it look like his bag is hanging at an angle that would put an uncomfortable strain on the wrist. Otherwise pretty nice

    4. No I’m not going to comment point-by-point in a numbered list on every one of them. Ynthon is awesome, but his thumb is maybe a bit too big, and his other non-index fingers a bit too small.

  3. well, honestly speaking. ur #4 is the only one that’s actually “passable” if graded strictly. Even so, she doesn’t look like a girl, more like a guy with longer hair.

  4. Elaborate please—#4 is the only (what) that’s “passable” in what sense if graded how? Just curious as to the scope of your statement. Also it doesn’t look like a guy to me but whatevs.
