11/25/07 Farewell to Gauntlet v0.2
By Flak | Comments: 4Hi guys. I mentioned over a week ago that today would be the release date for a text-only version of my first ‘visual novel’ type project. At the time, I said I was about 1/5 through with the text for the game, and that I would have the entire script written up by today.
Well, I don’t.
But I have made progress. My excuse has two parts: first, that I spent much of the last four days playing games with my brothers and some friends, and not much of that time doing much else. It was pretty much constant partying the last few days… and when there are lots of people around, or when there’s lots of noise, I find it hard to write. Such is life. The second part of my excuse would be that I got a bit more ambitious with the game and incorporated more choices into its structure. Two more choices, to be exact. So there’s a total of four possible endings, I think.
Right now you can play to one of them.
Here’re the downloads:
Farewell to Gauntlet v0.2 (Mac)
Farewell to Gauntlet v0.2 (Linux)
Farwell to Gauntlet v0.2 (Windows)
These are not final builds. They do not have config tools off, their files are not properly archived, and icons/etc. are lacking. Sound and art will be coming in future versions. Also, there are probably some bugs somewhere I haven’t found. Testing is actually very time-intensive and a pain in the butt. Whatever.
Lemme know if something screws itself.
Schedule note: I’m pushing the full text version (v0.3) to next Sunday (December 2nd) and postponing Tundra of Heroes Chapter Eight until the 9th. I’m really getting down to the wire on this Tundra of Heroes thing :P

Woo! As soon as I get a hold of the software, I am -so- turning this into a Dating Sim!

The idea of a “dating sim” repulses me.

The game’ll be hot enough already, what with the Inferno and stuff.
