8/12/07 Resurrection - TOH Prologue
By Flak | Proceed to Story | Comments: 2Thanks to *SPOILERS*, I have finally got a good direction for Tundra of Heroes, an old project I started back in 2005. I have a more or less completely outlined plot from which to work and I know what I want to cut from the old experiment and what I want to add. So, I’m doing a resurrection.
No, this isn’t “taking the place of the Hunter Chronicles.” For those not in the know, I normally have about three or four writing projects going at a time. For the Pen finished in sophomore year and The Last Season went to hell a long time ago, so for a while now all I’ve been doing is HC and a bit of Drawing my Heart. TOH should round this out a bit. Yes, I’ll be releasing chapters on the same Sunday I normally release HC, and I’ll only release one chapter of either per week, but this isn’t actually reducing the amount of HC you’ll get—as you of course know, I don’t release HC half as regularly as I’d like to.
Consider this bonus content! Or something. And it’s a fun tale, IMHO.
Anyway, today I’m releasing the prologue and the first chapter. These are revised from the experiment (fairly heavily), but are not rewrites a la HC. So yes, some bits will seem familiar if you read TOH back in the day. Chapter Two (which has been revised as well) will be released next week, and after that chapters will be all-new, as the first thing I’m tearing down is the dreadful original Chapter Three (”Master Huros”).
If you’ve read TOH before, you should read this for a number of reasons. One, you read it a long time ago, so likely things won’t be fresh in your mind, and you should be ready for the new bits when they come along. Two, the writing is (I humbly declare) tons better.
If you haven’t read TOH before, you should read this for the obvious reason that it’s something I’m writing.
I won’t be doing notes like I do for HC, but future release posts may have my trademark “short, non-spoiler summary.” I seriously urge any of you (especially if you like HC) to read this and give feedback. It’s very different from HC in style; it’s much smaller in scale and a lot of it is less serious than god-killing epicness (Jeuni is intended to be comical at least 40% of the time). Well, I digress—I leave further judgments to you the reader.
